Inspector /Scale Operator- Manchester
About The Position
The Inspector / Scale Operator is a hybrid position with responsibilities in both inspection and scale operations at Advantage Metals Recycling LLC. Safety is the most important part of the job, and the employee must initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards. The role involves assisting and directing customers, inspecting incoming materials for prohibited or hazardous items, processing transaction information and paperwork, coordinating shipments, and maintaining safety records. The employee may also assist other workers and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in an industrial or outdoor work environment.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Efficiency and strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers.
- Ability to meet the attendance schedule dependably and consistently.
- Ability to understand and carry out written and verbal instructions.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Ability to work with others as part of a team.
- Complete work history is required, including employers, employment dates, job titles, detailed responsibilities, and dates accounting for any gaps.

- Working experience around large trucks and heavy equipment.
Responsibilities
- Assist and direct customers to the proper location to unload materials.
- Inspect for flammable, radioactive, hazardous, and/or leaded materials.
- Inspect materials for liquids, non-metallic materials, and other unacceptable items, including propane tanks, PCBs, and batteries.
- Ensure prohibited materials are not left on company property.
- Occasionally remove and properly store items or materials.
- Obtain required customer information for transactions, complete purchasing and shipping documents, and conduct daily reconciliations.
- Ensure regulatory and company requirements are met.
- Coordinate rail and truck shipments and maintain safety records.
- Assist other workers as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
