About The Position

Tejas Equipment Rentals is looking for a driven, customer-focused Inside Sales Representative to join our growing team. As the voice of Tejas, you'll build meaningful relationships with customers, grow rental and sales revenue, and play a key role in delivering an exceptional experience on every interaction. This is an on-site, hourly position with commission incentives - your effort directly impacts your earnings.

Requirements

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Self-motivated with a drive to hit and exceed sales goals
  • Ability to manage multiple customers and tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented - accurate record-keeping matters here
  • Team player who works well with operations, logistics, and field sales
  • Must pass a drug test and have a clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior sales or customer service experience preferred
  • equipment rental or construction industry experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers - managing inquiries, quotes, and ongoing account needs
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through proactive, consistent communication
  • Drive rental and sales revenue through upselling, cross-selling, and contract extensions
  • Create, present, and follow up on quotes and proposals
  • Meet or exceed OEC (Original Equipment Cost) targets
  • Log all customer interactions accurately in our system of record
  • Collaborate with branch managers, operations, and logistics for smooth delivery and invoicing
  • Support outside sales reps (OSRs) in the field as needed
  • Address customer concerns and coordinate solutions across teams
  • Stay current on product knowledge, pricing, and company policies
