About The Position

Our Inside Sales Representatives are key contributors to the Sales team and play a fundamental role in acquiring and retaining customers across our specialized public-sector and institutional markets. In this role, you will build trusted relationships with government agencies, municipalities, campgrounds, homeowners associations (HOAs), and school districts — guiding them through the purchase of durable outdoor site furnishings made from recycled plastic and plastic-coated metal, as well as our traffic safety product line. You will deliver exceptional, personalized customer experiences through inbound and outbound sales activity while consistently meeting individual and team revenue goals.

Requirements

  • Prior sales experience required – minimum of 2 years— B2B, B2G, or inside sales experience strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in NetSuite (order management, quoting, and CRM) — required; experience with any ERP/CRM system considered.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build rapport over the phone and via email.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently and prioritize a high-volume workload.

  • Demonstrated ability to ask probing questions, handle objections, and close sales.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and internet-based tools.
  • Accurate data entry skills — alpha and numeric — with attention to detail.
  • Positive, professional, and upbeat demeanor that translates well over the phone.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience selling to government, municipal, school, or institutional customers.
  • Familiarity with cooperative purchasing contracts and public procurement processes.
  • Knowledge of outdoor site furnishings, park and recreation equipment, traffic safety products, or related categories.
  • Some college coursework in Business, Marketing, or Communications.
  • Catalog-based sales experience.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain trusted advisor relationships with new and existing customers in government, municipal, campground, HOA, and school markets.
  • Provide solution-oriented customer service considering all aspects of the consideration process, such as environment, end customer use, etc.
  • Ensure seamless customer transactions, pre-sales, and post-sales support that ensures consistency, responsiveness, and accountability.
  • Ability to show a wide breadth and depth of product knowledge and apply to customer needs and end goals.
  • Guide customers through decision-making processes with a “good, better, best” mindset.
  • Ability to craft communication with the end receiver in mind, ensuring maximum impact of messaging.
  • Strong work ethic with line of sight to customer engagement, relationship building, opportunity management, and follow-up to ensure maximum repeat customer potential.
  • Communication champion who provides clear support and prides oneself on service excellence.
  • Handle inbound and outbound phone calls, emails, and live chat professionally and efficiently.
  • Engage decision makers, purchasing agents, and facilities coordinators to understand needs, generate interest, and close sales.
  • Educate customers on product features, benefits, and sustainability attributes of our recycled plastic and plastic-coated metal site furnishings.
  • Identify and act on upsell and cross-sell opportunities across the full product portfolio, including traffic safety products.
  • Overcome objections and roadblocks in the sales cycle to advance customers through the funnel.
  • Prepare accurate quotes, shipping estimates, and sample requests; build proofs; and process orders from start to finish in NetSuite.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate customer and opportunity records in NetSuite CRM.
  • Efficiently manage time to respond to customer inquiries, follow up on open quotes, and execute outbound calling campaigns.
  • Multitask effectively — updating records in NetSuite with accuracy while conversing with customers.
  • Follow up on customer contact forms and outbound sales initiatives; create Opportunities in NetSuite where appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of our outdoor site furnishings, recycled material product lines, and traffic safety products.
  • Stay current on product updates, promotional offerings, and cooperative purchasing contract options (e.g., Gov Spend and CANOE).
  • Work collaboratively with team members, the Inside Sales Supervisor, and other departments to support shared goals.
  • Apply VOC (Voice of Customer) feedback and market insights and inform appropriate inside team members and departments.
  • Achieve individual monthly quotas and contribute to overall team sales targets.
  • Adapt to evolving duties and responsibilities as business needs change.
