About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Inside Sales Intern to join Winsupply Sourcing Services (WSS). In this role, you will assist with customer service operations to ensure that our local company customers’ service expectations are exceeded in every interaction. You will play an essential role in processing orders efficiently and helping to provide solutions for customer inquiries, concerns, and order-related issues. This position provides a unique opportunity to make a direct impact on the success of entrepreneurial small businesses across the United States by improving their inventory turnover and overall customer experience with WSS. This role provides a unique opportunity to work closely with senior sourcing professionals in managing the procurement and inventory process for a wide range of products across our 650+ local companies.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited university or college, either at the undergraduate or master’s level.

Responsibilities

  • Advocate for WSS in all interactions by promoting benefits, monthly promotions, and new product offerings.
  • Proactively communicate with customers to manage service expectations, such as delivery date expectations and extended lead times for back-ordered items.
  • Ensure timely communication and collaboration with DCP specialists, product managers, distribution centers, and other relevant personnel to address any service issues.
  • Assist with the procurement process by issuing purchase orders and managing inventory levels for multiple local companies.
  • Review and resolve alerts generated from Purchasing Systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Analyze historical data to develop and recommend strategies for inventory management, with a focus on improving vendor KPIs such as inventory turns and replenishment.
  • Establish regular communication and relationship-building activities with vendors and local company contacts.
  • Actively support the recruitment and retention of local companies’ purchasing contracts, working to strengthen relationships and drive performance improvements.
  • Perform complex analysis of inventory data and generate reports on product lines, inventory turnover, and vendor performance.
  • Develop and maintain reporting systems for tracking key performance metrics and suggest improvements based on findings.
  • Network with senior internal personnel to make effective business decisions.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned, including up to 10% overnight travel as necessary.
