About The Position

Carrier Global Corporation is hiring an Inside Sales Engineer to support its sales and engineering teams in designing, selecting, and applying chiller systems for commercial and industrial projects. The role supports equipment selection, proposal optimization, and sales activities that affect customer satisfaction, sales success, and company growth. The position is intended for someone with a foundational understanding of HVAC systems who wants to develop technical expertise in applied and airside applications. The engineer works with senior application engineers and sales teams to achieve appropriate equipment selection, system performance, and energy efficiency, enabling the sales team to focus on customer engagement and solution selling. The role may involve domestic travel of up to 25% and, if necessary, local site visits. The annual salary range is $79,000 to $158,000. The position may also be eligible for short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.

Requirements

Associate degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction, or a technical trade school certificate/diploma.
At least 2 years of experience with commercial HVAC systems.
Ability to travel domestically up to 25%.

Responsibilities

Assist in designing and selecting chiller systems based on project specifications and client requirements.
Use proprietary selection software to size and configure industrial cooling products.
Prepare and distribute technical proposals and submittals, including equipment selection, system layout, and cost estimates.
Collaborate with sales teams on solutions aligned with customer needs.
Conduct local site visits when necessary to gather data, assess system performance, and verify compliance with design specifications.
Assist in answering technical questions from commercial sales engineers.
Maintain project documentation and records, including design calculations, equipment specifications, CRM updates, and client communications.
Keep technical information organized, accessible, and aligned with internal standards.
Support process-improvement efforts to increase efficiency and proposal accuracy.
Support post-sale activities, including installation guidance, start-up technical assistance, and warranty inquiries.
Keep current on industry trends, technologies, and best practices in chiller applications.
Participate in training and workshops to develop technical knowledge and application expertise.
Learn about system performance through engagement with senior engineers and technical mentors.
Assist in training courses for commercial sales engineers.
