About The Position

CenterPointe Hospital in Saint Charles, Missouri, provides acute inpatient and outpatient treatment for adults and seniors experiencing mental or behavioral health challenges. The Inpatient Therapist assesses, diagnoses, and provides clinical services to people with behavioral health disorders. Licensed and unlicensed candidates are welcome to apply; candidates with case management and discharge planning experience are strongly sought. The role may provide services in an inpatient or outpatient setting.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a Human Services field.
One or more years of experience working with a comparable patient population.
Required state or national licensure for professional therapy providers, or eligibility for state licensure as a professional therapy provider.
CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification; training is available upon hire and offered by the facility.

Case management and discharge planning experience are strongly sought.

Responsibilities

Apply psychotherapeutic techniques and interventions with individuals and families to treat diagnosed emotional and behavioral disorders.
Conduct psychosocial assessments and develop initial discharge plans.
Conduct individual, group, or family sessions as appropriate to patients’ treatment plans.
Develop initial treatment plans based on assessments, coordinate additional services as needed, and revise plans when necessary.
Document therapy services according to facility and professional standards, revising documentation as indicated.
Maintain an assigned caseload.
Participate in treatment team meetings and collaborate with staff to facilitate services consistent with patients’ treatment plans.
Provide case management, discharge planning, or aftercare planning as needed.
Maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers; acknowledge and work to resolve unmet patient needs and prioritize patient safety.
Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.
