About The Position

Etsy is hiring for a full-time role in Account Integrity and Security, part of its Risk & Fraud organization. The role is described in the posting as a Senior Investigator responsible for defining and driving high-impact investigations that improve Etsy’s ability to identify, understand, and respond to evolving fraud threats at scale. Rather than working only from a defined queue, this person identifies important risks, shapes investigative approaches, and leads cross-functional efforts from problem definition through remediation. The role combines complex investigative work, data analysis, strategic recommendations, and collaboration with Product, Engineering, Analytics, Data Science, Legal, Design, Support, and other partners. The investigator translates findings into improvements to fraud controls, tooling, workflows, model strategy, and risk mitigation. They also serve as a senior subject matter expert, communicate complex issues to varied audiences, mentor investigators, and improve investigative practices across the organization. The position reports to the Sr Manager, Operations, Account Integrity & Security. The team focuses on protecting Etsy accounts from compromise and abuse, preventing account takeovers, enforcing platform policies, strengthening identity signals, clustering related accounts, and safeguarding marketplace trust and safety. Etsy prioritizes candidates within commuting distance of its Brooklyn office, with in-office attendance once or twice per week depending on proximity. Remote candidates outside commuting distance may be considered case by case, with occasional office travel expected. The salary range is $129,000–$175,000 annually in Geo-1 (New York City, San Francisco Bay Area, and Seattle metropolitan areas) and $116,000–$158,000 annually in Geo-2 (other U.S. locations). Compensation also includes eligibility for equity, an annual performance bonus, and competitive benefits. Salary depends on location, skills, and experience.
