Infrastructure Operations Engineer
About The Position
Technica Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Operations Engineer responsible for maintaining, supporting, and improving enterprise collaboration, reporting, and authentication platforms. This role ensures the stability, security, and performance of critical systems including SharePoint, Power BI Report Server, SQL clusters, and various on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure services. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical troubleshooting skills, a solid understanding of hybrid environments, and the ability to support security/ATO compliance efforts. The position is located at a government facility in Washington, D.C., requiring onsite work. Any hybrid work schedule requires customer approval, and remote work must be coordinated with the team lead and/or government POC to ensure zero interruption in service delivery.
Requirements
- Active Top-Secret with SCI and CI Poly eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in IT Technology or related field or equivalent education and/or experience.
- 5 years of experience administering SharePoint (on-prem, Azure, and SPO).
- 3 years of experience with patching, security hardening, and compliance-driven remediation.
- Familiarity with Power BI Report Server, SQL, ADFS, and Windows Server environments.
- Knowledge of Azure services and hybrid cloud concepts.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Responsibilities
- Manage, configure, and maintain on-premises, Azure, and cloud-based SharePoint environments.
- Perform troubleshooting, monitoring, and performance optimization for SharePoint.
- Support SharePoint governance and service requests.
- Administer SharePoint Online (SPO), including security, access controls, and feature management.
- Administer and maintain on-prem/Azure Power BI Report Server.
- Configure data sources, manage report deployment, and support users with report accessibility issues for Power BI Report Server.
- Monitor Power BI Report Server performance and ensure report refresh reliability.
- Monitor and support SQL server for Power BI RS.
- Support ADFS environments, including troubleshooting authentication/claims issues.
- Maintain configurations supporting secure access to enterprise applications.
- Possess baseline SQL administration knowledge.
- Support SQL cluster monitoring, failover testing, and basic troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with database teams on SQL maintenance, patches, and stability improvements.
- Perform Windows Server maintenance, including patching, updates, and configuration management.
- Support security and ATO remediation tasks aligned with organizational compliance requirements.
- Monitor system health, logs, and alerts to ensure reliable server operations.
- Manage or support Azure services related to identity, storage, SharePoint Online, and hybrid integrations.
- Assist with monitoring, configuration, and troubleshooting of cloud-connected components.
- Participate in initiatives that improve cloud governance, automation, and infrastructure efficiency.
- Respond to escalated operational tickets and resolve issues promptly.
- Contribute to documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.
- Participate in system upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure enhancement projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across security, networking, development, and data platforms.
