About The Position

This position will serve as a business analyst with the Department of Technology, Management, and Budget (DTMB) Agency Services supporting the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT). The employee performs a complete range of information system analyst assignments including, but not limited to, analyzing complex business processes, developing detailed business process flows, gathering and management of business requirements, facilitating requirements gathering sessions, trace and validate requirements, assist in system user acceptance testing, user documentation creation, and participate in the pre- and post-system implementation support as needed.

Requirements

  • Possession of a bachelor's degree with 21 semester (32 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management or mathematics.
  • No specific type or amount of experience is required for the bachelor's degree path.
  • Possession of an associate's degree with 16 semester (24 term) credits in computer science, data processing, computer information, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management or mathematics and two years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, or information technology technician.
  • Two years (4160 hours) of experience as an Information Technology Student Assistant may be substituted for the education requirement.
  • Possession of a high school diploma and four years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, information technology technician.
  • Four years (8,320 hours) of experience as an Information Technology Student Assistant may be substituted for the education requirement.
  • Must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States within three business days of beginning employment.
  • Must complete work within Michigan if approved to work a hybrid schedule.

Benefits

  • Sign-on bonus up to $2,500 (up to $1,250 to be paid upon new hire and the remainder to be paid after satisfactory completion of the initial probationary period (12-month period)). This does not apply to current state employees.
