About The Position

We are seeking an Information Technologist III (VTC Facilitator) to support a dynamic, mission-driven training environment at Fort Lee, VA. This role plays a key part in maintaining and supporting IT systems that enable classroom instruction, training exercises, and operational simulations. The environment includes a mix of traditional and modern technologies such as client-server systems, thin clients, virtual servers, and secure private networks. Due to strict security requirements, this position requires hands-on, on-site support across classrooms, offices, and end-user environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field OR Minimum of 3 years of relevant IT support experience
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Office Suite and standard desktop applications
  • Hands-on experience with IT hardware, networking, and end-user support
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems (e.g., Remedy, ServiceNow, or similar)
  • Ability to troubleshoot in secure, restricted environments requiring on-site support
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting Audio/Visual or VTC systems is strongly preferred
  • Experience supporting training environments or classroom technologies
  • Exposure to virtualized environments and thin-client systems
  • Familiarity with military or government IT environments

Responsibilities

  • Provide Video Teleconferencing (VTC) support, including setup, facilitation, troubleshooting, and coordination of sessions
  • Coordinate and manage IT service requests through a ticketing system (e.g., Remedy or similar)
  • Deliver hands-on technical support for a wide range of IT equipment, including: Servers, desktops, laptops, and tablets; Printers, scanners, and multifunction devices; Mobile and communication devices
  • Support and maintain classroom technology environments, including: Training systems and applications; Wired and wireless networks; Audio/Visual (A/V) systems and presentation tools
  • Assist with system lifecycle support, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and upgrades
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues in secure environments requiring physical access
  • Ensure reliable operation of systems supporting training exercises, simulations, and special programs
  • Provide support for web-based tools and technologies used in training environments
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, issues identified, and resolutions
  • Deliver high-quality customer service and ensure timely resolution of technical issues
