Information Systems Supervisor II

UCSF•San Francisco, CA

About The Position

The Information Systems Supervisor II manages Eureka’s technical and operational function through professional technical staff and provides strategic and organizational leadership for the digital research platform. The role translates Executive Team objectives into actionable plans, technical and service roadmaps, operating and governance practices, and coordinated execution across web, mobile, data, and QA functions. It directly supervises professional technical staff and determines operational priorities, work assignments, sequencing, and deployment of existing technical capacity. The role is accountable for technical and operational performance and leads platform strategy, service development and sustainability, technical service delivery, security and risk coordination, and continuous improvement. Within delegated authority, the position independently directs platform operations and technical resources, establishes engineering and service-delivery practices, manages routine service and support boundaries, and coordinates implementation of priorities. For strategic, financial, partnership, pricing, vendor, and resource-investment decisions requiring Executive Team review, it develops technical, operational, financial, and stakeholder analyses and recommendations. Final approval for major strategic commitments, material financial commitments, scientific or research priorities, and formal institutional security or compliance decisions remains with the Executive Team or appropriate institutional authorities. Eureka is a UCSF digital research platform developed within the Division of Cardiology to support mobile, web-based, and sensor-enabled research at scale. It supports mobile and web applications, participant-facing study workflows, surveys, EHR, wearable and connected-device data collection, and research data services. The platform has supported approximately 600,000 participants and approximately 100 research studies, contributing to more than 65 scientific publications. The Division of Cardiology has over 80 full-time faculty and 39 clinical fellows and expends over $22 million annually across its clinical, research, training, and service missions.
