About The Position

Join a collaborative, experienced Infectious Disease team in a fully inpatient Advanced Practice Provider role supporting hospitalized patients at Rochester General Hospital and Unity Hospital. The role focuses on complex inpatient medicine and infectious disease, working alongside Infectious Disease physicians and an experienced APP team with more than 15 years of experience. It offers a Monday-Friday daytime schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with no call and no weekends.

Requirements

Master of Science in Nursing.
Nurse Practitioner certification from the NYS Office of Professions.
Registered Nurse license from the NYS Office of Professions.

Nice To Haves

Internal Medicine experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive care to hospitalized patients as part of the Infectious Disease team.
Perform advanced patient assessments, develop differential diagnoses, and establish individualized plans of care.
Order and interpret laboratory testing, imaging, and other diagnostic studies as appropriate.
Collaborate with Infectious Disease physicians, APPs, hospitalists, nursing, and other interdisciplinary care teams.
Manage treatment plans and prescribe medications and therapies within scope of practice.
Monitor patient progress and adjust plans of care based on clinical findings and response to treatment.
Educate and guide patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and ongoing care.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, continuing education, and student education when applicable.
Practice with a high level of clinical autonomy with support from an experienced Infectious Disease team.
