About The Position

The Infant Teacher supports the Lead Teacher in creating engaging programs, managing the classroom, and maintaining a safe, stimulating environment. The role involves helping children develop socially, emotionally, cognitively, and physically through active engagement and positive interactions. The school describes its facilities as state-of-the-art and its workplace as supportive, collaborative, welcoming, and nurturing. Hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Each school location is privately owned and operated by a Goddard School franchisee, which determines its own wages and benefits.

Requirements

High school diploma required.
Previous experience working with young children in a licensed childcare or preschool setting.
Empathy and compassion for young children.
Ability to work productively without supervision.
Basic understanding of child development.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with handling children.
Must pass required state background checks and meet state minimum education, experience, and credential requirements.

Nice To Haves

Associate or bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans.
Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through active engagement and positive interactions.
Prepare classroom materials and maintain a safe, clean, and inviting learning environment.
Supervise children, provide individualized support, and foster a sense of belonging.
Assist in communicating with families about children’s progress and daily activities.
Follow health and safety guidelines and licensing regulations.
Support daily care routines and tasks to promote a nurturing learning environment.
