About The Position

The Infant/Preschool Teacher cares for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers from 6 weeks to 5 years old, working independently and as part of a team. Teachers provide a safe, loving, and engaging environment; supervise children during play and rest; support feeding, diapering, and infant care; lead activities for toddlers and preschoolers; and maintain clean play, sleep, and changing areas. The position is available full-time or part-time, with shifts listed between 6:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. at the Eureka Early Learning Center. Requirements

• Pass a drug test; THC is excluded.
• Pass a background check.
• Provide references.
• Be available Monday through Friday.
• Meet annual professional development requirements per Washoe County Licensing.
• Be willing to work with children from 6 weeks to 5 years old.
• Be caring, dedicated to the local community, and willing to prioritize helping the team.
• Have strong speaking and customer service skills to communicate effectively with parents.
• Be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
• Be able to sit on the floor for extended periods.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED (preferred).
• One year of early childhood education experience (preferred).
• One year of childcare experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe and loving environment for children in their care.
• Check children in and out.
• Give bottles to infants and feed solid foods as age appropriate.
• Change diapers as needed.
• Soothe infants by singing to and cuddling them.
• Supervise infants on the floor as they play with age-appropriate toys.
• Play with toddlers and preschoolers and lead activities for them.
• Put infants in cribs for nap time.
• Keep play, sleep, and changing areas clean.
• Clean toys at the end of the day.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
