About The Position

Guidepost Montessori is hiring an Assistant Guide for its Emeryville school. The Assistant Guide supports a mixed-age Montessori classroom serving infants, toddlers, and children ages 3–6. The role helps create a calm, engaging environment where children can explore, learn, and grow at their own pace. The Assistant Guide helps prepare intentional learning spaces and supports individualized and small-group activities with respect, patience, and care, helping children build confidence and recognize their capabilities.

Requirements

• Experience working with children ages 1–6 in a school or childcare setting.
• A positive, adaptable, and collaborative mindset.
• A genuine love for working with young children.
• 12 ECE units completed.

Nice To Haves

• Interest in learning and growing within the Montessori approach.
• Prior Montessori experience is welcome but not required.

Responsibilities

• Observe children closely to understand and support their individual needs.
• Help prepare and maintain a beautiful, orderly classroom environment.
• Support individual and small-group learning activities.
• Build warm, respectful relationships with children and families.
• Collaborate with Lead Guides and fellow team members to create a strong classroom community.
