About The Position

The Goddard School in Vinings, Georgia, is seeking a motivated and caring Assistant Infant Teacher. The role supports the Lead Teacher in creating engaging, age-appropriate programs, managing the classroom, and maintaining a safe, stimulating environment. The teacher helps nurture children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development while contributing to a collaborative school community. The position requires availability Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Starting compensation is $17.00 per hour. Each Goddard School location is privately owned and operated, and its franchise owner sets wages and benefits, which may vary by location.

Requirements

High school diploma required.
Previous experience working with young children in a licensed childcare or preschool setting required.
Demonstrate empathy and compassion for young children.
Work productively without supervision.
Basic understanding of child development.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds in connection with handling children.
Availability Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Nice To Haves

At least one year of experience with the infant age group is preferred.
An associate or bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans.
Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
Prepare classroom materials and maintain classroom safety and cleanliness.
Supervise children and provide individualized support.
Assist with communicating to parents about their child's progress and activities.
Follow health and safety guidelines.
Support routine child care tasks to promote a nurturing learning environment.
