Infant Assistant Teacher
About The Position
Wonderspring, a nonprofit early childhood education organization, is seeking an Infant Assistant Teacher to support the Lead Teacher in the Infant Classroom at its New Market West Center. The role helps create a nurturing, relationship-based classroom environment and supports daily lesson plans, learning activities, routines, and supervision of children. The assistant teacher assumes classroom responsibilities when the Lead Teacher is absent, assists with tasks associated with the daily schedule, and helps children use acceptable alternatives to challenging behavior through guidance approaches such as FLIP IT and Second Step. The position also involves observing, documenting, and celebrating each child’s progress and sharing children’s achievements with parents.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 2 years of experience working with children.
- Strong teamwork and flexibility.
- Ability to keep information private.
- Basic knowledge of childcare rules.
- Must obtain all required clearances and complete a health assessment with TB screening prior to employment.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with infants and toddlers is preferred.
Responsibilities
