Industrial Millwright
About The Position
Interfor is hiring an Industrial Millwright in Eatonton, Georgia, to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair sawmill equipment so the operation runs safely and efficiently. Working as part of the maintenance team, the millwright will apply mechanical, hydraulic, welding, and fabrication skills to reduce downtime, improve equipment reliability, and support production. This is a full-time weekend day-shift position. The pay range is $29.21–$40.74 per hour, based on skill level and experience, with a $1.25-per-hour shift differential and a performance-based quarterly gainshare bonus. Applicants offered a position must successfully complete a pre-employment drug test and background check.
Requirements
- 2 to 4 years of millwright-level experience.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work in varying seasonal climate conditions.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Manufacturing, sawmill, lumber, or industrial maintenance experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Read and understand equipment drawings and blueprints.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance.
- Cut, weld, and fabricate different types of steel.
- Assess and repair machinery and hydraulic problems in a timely manner.
- Determine shaft sizes, measure, and build replacement shafts.
- Recognize and replace sprockets, bearings, chains, and related components.
- Follow the lock-out policy by turning off the power source, locking out the machine, and testing to ensure isolation.
- Submit work requests and complete work orders.
