About The Position

As an Industrial Millwright Trainee in Eatonton, Georgia, you will work alongside experienced millwrights to learn how to safely install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair the mechanical systems and equipment used in the sawmill. The role provides on-the-job training and an opportunity to develop technical skills and advance into a skilled industrial millwright position. Pay is $23.07 per hour, with the opportunity for increased earnings as skills, experience, and qualifications grow.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a two-year technical degree program in Industrial Systems Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Technology, or a closely related field.
• Strong interest in developing a career as an industrial millwright.
• Ability to work safely from elevated platforms and heights.
• Willingness to learn mechanical troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and mill equipment operation.
• Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
• Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug test and background check if offered a position.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist experienced millwrights with mechanical repairs, maintenance, and improvement projects throughout the mill.
• Learn to read and interpret equipment drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment.
• Assist with troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and maintaining mechanical equipment, including conveyors, bearings, belts, chains, gearboxes, and other mill equipment.
• Learn proper alignment, installation, and adjustment of mechanical components and equipment.
• Follow safety procedures, including lockout/tagout requirements, before performing maintenance or repairs.
• Learn to safely operate mill equipment to perform test runs following repairs, as required.
• Complete work orders and accurately document work performed, parts used, and time required.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
