About The Position

The Industrial Millwright is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks within a manufacturing facility. This includes mechanical, electrical, and fabrication work to ensure the smooth operation of machinery and equipment. The role requires adherence to safety protocols, completion of training, and availability for overtime and emergency call-ins. The candidate will also be responsible for maintaining a clean work area, documenting actions, and potentially traveling to other company locations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 3 years in a manufacturing facility
  • Understanding of OSHA safety requirements in a manufacturing environment
  • Able to work independently or in a team environment
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Strong decision-making skills
  • Able to read and follow written and verbal work instructions
  • Experience in industrial or commercial maintenance for a minimum of 2 years
  • Thorough knowledge of Lock out Tag out procedures
  • Familiarity with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) standards
  • Working knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC)

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repair on machinery and equipment, including pumps, refiners, and drives.
  • Conduct pipe fitting (regular and stainless steel).
  • Perform metal fabrication.
  • Grind slitter knives.
  • Repair lift trucks.
  • Perform lubrication (oiling).
  • Maintain compressed air systems.
  • Operate and perform minor work on lathes and milling machines.
  • Understand and apply electronic/PLC fundamentals.
  • Perform low voltage electrical work.
  • Conduct vibration analysis.
  • Perform precision roll grinding.
  • Perform welding.
  • Read and interpret blueprints.
  • Use micrometers and other precision measuring tools.
  • Perform optical and laser alignment.
  • Operate Bridgeport mills and engine lathes.
  • Maintain sand filters.
  • Work with boiler steam systems.
  • Perform rigging.
  • Maintain and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Service fire protection systems.
  • Operate heavy equipment.
  • Follow all safety rules and use required safety equipment.
  • Complete all required training, including electrical training per OSHA standards.
  • Be available for emergency call-ins 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Work shifts when needed, including a rotation schedule for weekend call-in coverage.
  • Perform work involving stooping, bending, climbing, and working at various heights, including on scaffolds.
  • Clean work areas at the end of each day.
  • Notify supervisor of potentially dangerous situations.
  • Document all corrective actions taken.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Travel to other TRP mills and the Little Falls Office.
  • Further education through training and seminars.
