About The Position

C&W Services is the industry leader in cutting-edge maintenance and janitorial programs for facilities ranging from corporate office portfolios and manufacturing plants to large public venues—keeping our client’s facility running smoothly all the time. This role is for an Industrial Mechanical Technician - Skilled in Dayton, OH, with hours from Monday - Thursday, 7:00a - 5:30p. The position offers weekly pay on Fridays, comprehensive benefits from day one, advancement opportunities, training, and company-provided safety apparel and uniforms.

Requirements

  • Possess a high school degree or an approved GED.
  • 5+ years' experience in industrial maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of using hand/power tools, precision alignment, rigging, pipefitting, welding, blueprint reading, mathematics, Preventive/Predictive Maintenance.
  • Ability to use hand tools on a daily basis such as power tools (hand grinders, saws, impact wrenches, drill press, and hydraulic pullers), and rigging equipment.
  • Ability to operate and have knowledge of simple and complex heavy industrial equipment such as forklifts, scissors lifts, basket trucks, and skid loaders.
  • Ability to observe details at close range.
  • Ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions.
  • Ability to quickly grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
  • Substantial lifting (up to 50 pounds) is required.
  • Ability to move for extended or continuous periods of time.
  • Ability to ascend and descend staircases, ladders, and/or step stools.
  • Ability to operate applicable hand tools, power tools, and equipment.
  • Ability to operate forklifts or other vehicles in a safe manner.
  • Ability to wear a respirator while performing job duties.
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
  • Ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern.
  • Maintain positive customer and employee relations.

Nice To Haves

  • AA degree in Industrial Maintenance preferred.
  • 4+ years education in industrial maintenance technologies / engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a team-oriented and safety-conscious environment, adhering to safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on pumps, conveying systems, piping, heat exchangers, power transmissions, and other power-driven rotating equipment.
  • Ensure repairs and preventive maintenance are performed in conformance with established standards.
  • Work without supervision on assigned tasks.
  • Assist in formulating preventive maintenance standards and work procedures, and provide work order feedback.
  • Use hand and power tools, precision alignment, rigging, pipefitting, welding, and blueprint reading.
  • Perform welding and use a cutting torch as required.
  • Operate heavy industrial equipment such as forklifts, scissors lifts, basket trucks, and skid loaders.
  • Work from elevated areas utilizing fall protection equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with all company and customer regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Achieve performance expectations and participate in employee development planning.
  • Communicate with team members to assist in short- and long-range planning.
  • Maintain personal tools and provide a documented personal tool list.
  • Meet physical requirements of the job.
  • Perform assigned tasks in a safe, effective, and efficient manner.
  • Complete accurate and timely administrative duties, including time accounting and work order completion.
  • Maintain positive customer and employee relations.
