Requirements

  • Working knowledge of using hand/power tools.
  • Working knowledge of precision alignment.
  • Working knowledge of rigging.
  • Working knowledge of pipefitting.
  • Working knowledge of welding.
  • Working knowledge of blueprint reading.
  • Working knowledge of mathematics.
  • Working knowledge of Preventive/Predictive Maintenance.
  • Ability to use hand tools on a daily basis such as power tools (hand grinders, saws, impact wrenches, drill press, and hydraulic pullers), and rigging equipment.
  • Ability to perform welding, using a cutting torch as required.
  • Ability to operate and have knowledge of simple and complex heavy industrial equipment such as forklifts, scissors lifts, basket trucks, and skid loaders.
  • Ability to work from elevated areas such as ladders, platforms, scaffolding, etc., utilizing fall protection equipment as necessary.
  • Flexibility to work all shifts including holidays and weekends as demanded by the job.
  • Ability to meet physical requirements of the job.
  • Ability to perform assigned tasks in a safe, effective, and efficient manner.
  • Ability to maintain positive customer and employee relations.
  • 0-5 years of mechanical experience and/or 1-2 years of education in industrial maintenance technologies preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on pumps, conveying systems, piping, heat exchangers, power transmissions, and other power-driven rotating equipment.
  • Ensure repairs and preventive maintenance are performed in conformance with established standards.
  • Complete tasks with direct supervision or independently, depending on the assignment and employee's development.
  • Assist in formulating preventive maintenance standards and work procedures.
  • Provide work order feedback on discrepancies noted in service delivery.
  • Use hand and power tools daily, including power tools (hand grinders, saws, impact wrenches, drill press, and hydraulic pullers), and rigging equipment.
  • Perform welding and use a cutting torch as required.
