Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of installation, repair, and maintenance of commercial and industrial machinery.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems is essential.
  • Familiarity with OSHA standards and requirements.
  • Strong oral and written communication abilities.
  • Proficient in repair techniques.
  • A good driving record is essential.
  • Ability to perform tasks independently.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and maintain commercial and industrial machinery in various settings, including buildings, plants, and manufacturing facilities.
  • Ensure all machines operate efficiently through troubleshooting and preventative maintenance.
  • Inspect used parts to determine dimensional changes using tools such as rules, calipers, and micrometers.
  • Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
  • Ensure the correct and safe operation of equipment and machinery using the customer’s onsite maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Read diagrams, schematic drawings, and service manuals to establish work procedures.
  • Diagnose and maintain engines, conveyors, electrical systems, and pneumatic and hydraulic equipment.
  • Fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach motors, and connect couplings and belts to precise tolerances.
  • Identify faulty equipment through observation and testing metrics.
  • Identify and request necessary replacement parts to perform repairs.
  • Work with the facility manager to continually update production processes and system software as applicable.
  • Attend daily shift meetings to prioritize work orders and minimize downtime.
  • Safely operate cranes, power tools, hoists, and hand tools.
  • Maintain an inventory of parts and tools.
  • Prepare maintenance reports and summaries using daily activity logs and work tickets.
  • Maintain knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems through ongoing training, industry workshops, and technical reading.
