Industrial Maintenance Mechanic
About The Position
Clean Harbors is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic in Cleveland, Ohio. The role performs hands-on maintenance to keep the plant and associated equipment operating and maintained. Work includes specialized equipment, yellow iron equipment, forklifts, industrial plumbing, electrical and welding projects, and capital projects. The position also leads larger and more complex capital maintenance projects, including coordinating vendors and maintenance personnel. The regular shift is 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; overtime and weekend work may be needed to keep the plant running. Pay is $28–$35 per hour, depending on experience.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of experience in an industrial maintenance setting.
Nice To Haves
- Experience leading capital projects and working with vendors.
- Experience managing supply inventory and ordering supplies.
- Experience using a computerized maintenance management program.
- Proficiency in welding, electrical work, pump rebuilds, motors, plumbing, yellow iron, forklifts, and building maintenance.
- Previous experience in preventive maintenance or basic facility installations.
Responsibilities
- Follow health and safety policies, processes, and practices at all times.
- Perform maintenance on specialized equipment, including pump rebuilds and motors, preventive maintenance, pipe installations, welding, plumbing, and electrical work.
- Maintain yellow iron equipment and forklifts.
- Perform building maintenance.
- Lead capital projects, including managing vendors and maintenance personnel on large, complex maintenance activities.
- Ensure work meets facility-operation compliance standards.
- Maintain a clean work environment.
- Manage supplies in the assigned area, including proper housekeeping and best management practices.
- Record and document work in the computerized Facility Maintenance system.
- Perform other duties assigned by management or required by business needs.
