Industrial Mechanic/Maintenance
About The Position
As an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic at a corrugated packaging facility, you will help keep equipment operating at OEM standards. You will work with maintenance leadership, machine operators, and vendors to maximize uptime, improve reliability, and safely support production goals. This is a union plant role in Camillus, New York, with flexibility required to work either the second shift (2:00 PM–10:00 PM) or third shift (10:00 PM–6:00 AM). Employees must be able to work daily and weekend overtime. The position requires troubleshooting and repairing mechanical systems and performing preventive and emergency maintenance on production equipment. Duties also include inspecting and monitoring equipment, performing lubrication, wear measurements, alignments, and adjustments, and responding to breakdowns to minimize downtime. The role requires safe work practices, use of technical documentation and maintenance work order systems, and keeping maintenance records and parts inventories up to date. Requirements
- At least 2 years of industrial maintenance experience.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems, mechanical drives, pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, and boiler systems.
- Ability to read and reference equipment manuals and technical documentation.
- Experience installing, maintaining, testing, and safely calibrating basic electrical components.
- Strong understanding of precision maintenance practices.
- Ability to operate forklifts, hoists, and other industrial equipment when required.
- Experience using maintenance work order systems.
- Strong computer skills, including updating parts inventories, work orders, and maintenance documentation.
- Working knowledge of 5S principles.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to work either the second shift (2:00 PM–10:00 PM) or third shift (10:00 PM–6:00 AM).
- Must be able to work daily and weekend overtime.
Nice To Haves
- 5 or more years of industrial maintenance experience.
- Experience troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on large industrial equipment.
- Demonstrated experience with power transmission systems, gearboxes, mechanical drives, and fluid drive systems.
- Experience in corrugated packaging, paper manufacturing, or other high-volume manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities
- Follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Perform preventive and emergency maintenance on production equipment.
- Conduct inspections, lubrication, wear measurements, alignments, and component adjustments.
