About The Position

The Industrial Maintenance Apprenticeship is a development program offering immersive, hands-on training in a fast-paced bakery environment. Apprentices shadow high-performing technicians and learn to support optimal efficiency through scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, with safety and quality as priorities. Apprentices rotate assignments across different bakery areas and are expected to pursue ongoing training as technology and performance standards evolve.

The role includes physical requirements such as climbing fixed and portable ladders up to twenty feet, stooping and bending while lifting up to fifty pounds, and climbing onto and crawling under machinery as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be enrolled in a Technical/Trade or College program in industrial maintenance or a related field.
• Ability to climb fixed and portable ladders to a height of twenty feet.
• Ability to stoop and bend while lifting weights up to fifty pounds.
• Ability to climb onto and crawl under machinery as required.

Responsibilities

• Practice safe work habits, proper tool selection and usage, and general shop practices.
• Assist with assigned preventive maintenance tasks and scheduled maintenance.
• Respond with the team to equipment stoppages and mechanical breakdowns.
• Assist in identifying mechanical wear and in identifying, troubleshooting, and replacing mechanical drive and conveyor components.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Comply with Company policies and procedures, including those related to equal employment opportunity, harassment, safety, and Sarbanes-Oxley.
• Perform other duties considered integral to the job, including fulfilling work schedules, adhering to attendance policies, and following applicable operating rules, policies, and procedures.
• Possess or attain licenses required by applicable municipal, county/ward, or state regulatory agencies to work with boilers, refrigeration components, and other job-related equipment.
