Industrial Electrical Estimator
About The Position
The Industrial Electrical Estimator prepares accurate, competitive, and comprehensive electrical estimates and proposals for industrial construction projects. The role reviews electrical drawings, specifications, and Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) to understand project scope, identify electrical and instrumentation requirements, and develop complete labor and material estimates. The ideal candidate has industrial electrical estimating experience; experience supporting industrial water/wastewater projects is strongly preferred. The work is primarily office-based or hybrid, with occasional travel to commercial construction sites, pre-bid meetings, customer meetings, and project locations. Site visits may involve variable weather and exposure to noise, dust, uneven surfaces, and other construction-related hazards. Employees must comply with applicable safety regulations, PPE requirements, and Loenbro’s Environmental Health and Safety policies. Requirements
- Education in Construction Management/Technology or Electrical Engineering, or at least 3 years of hands-on electrical contracting experience.
- Strong understanding of electrical estimating, including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and indirect costs.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical drawings, one-lines, plans, and specifications.
- Understanding of electrical and instrumentation scope associated with industrial facilities.
- Ability to develop complete and accurate electrical estimates from bid documents.
- Experience soliciting and evaluating vendor and subcontractor pricing.
- Strong understanding of electrical construction means, methods, materials, and labor requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines.
- Must comply with applicable safety regulations, PPE requirements, and Loenbro’s Environmental Health and Safety policies.
Nice To Haves
- At least 1 year of electrical estimating experience in an industrial construction environment.
- Experience with industrial water/wastewater projects; strongly preferred.
- Experience with industrial mining, manufacturing, and other industrial process facilities.
- Experience with AccuBid Classic or similar electrical estimating software.
