About The Position

The Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering at Iowa State University (ISU) is seeking a tenure-track faculty member at the rank of assistant or associate professor, starting Fall 2027. The position focuses on automation and robotics, with foundational expertise required in either advanced manufacturing or human factors and ergonomics. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain a strong, externally funded research program that aligns with the department's focus areas, contribute to high-level scholarship, teach at both undergraduate and graduate levels, and participate in institutional and professional service. Strong communication skills and leadership potential are essential for supporting the department's, college's, and university's missions. Requirements

  • Ph.D. or equivalent degree in industrial engineering or a closely aligned field.
  • Associate Professor candidates must also meet the university standards for appointment to the rank, including significant experience/accomplishments in the candidate's area of expertise.
