About The Position
The Department of Sociology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites applications for an Assistant or Associate (tenure-track or tenured) faculty position to begin July 1, 2027. We welcome applications from sociologists working in any substantive area whose scholarship is pathbreaking and poised to shape their field. In addition, we seek a colleague whose teaching will contribute to our interdisciplinary undergraduate Management and Society major, through existing or new courses on organizations, work and occupations, economic sociology, social psychology, non-profits, work and family, AI and work, or related topics. Applicants should specify their contribution to our Management and Society major in their cover letter. Candidates are expected to hold a Ph.D. in Sociology or a related field by July 1, 2027.
