About The Position

Faculty Position in Veterinary Epidemiology, Preventive Medicine, and Public Health. The Department of Veterinary Pathobiology in the College of Veterinary Medicine at Oklahoma State University invites applications for a full-time tenure or career track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in veterinary epidemiology, preventive medicine, and public health. Rank and appointment will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience. This position offers an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative faculty dedicated to excellence in teaching, service, and scholarship while advancing preventive medicine, herd health, epidemiology, and One Health through partnerships with Oklahoma's state and federal animal health agencies, beef cattle and food animal industries, practicing veterinarians, and producers.

Requirements

  • D.V.M. (or equivalent veterinary degree) from an AVMA-accredited institution.
  • M.S. in Epidemiology, Preventive Medicine, or a Master of Public Health (MPH).
  • Degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date.

Nice To Haves

  • Ph.D. in epidemiology
  • Experience or advanced training in herd preventive health management, particularly in rural and underserved communities.
  • Board certification in the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Large Animal), the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (Beef Cattle or Dairy Practice), or equivalent specialty certification.
  • Diplomate status or eligibility for Diplomate status in the American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine-Epi (ACVPM).

Responsibilities

  • Teach veterinary epidemiology, preventive medicine, and related subjects in the professional veterinary curriculum.
  • Participate in activities of the Center for Rural Veterinary Medicine.
  • Provide consultation and expertise in herd health management, disease prevention, and outbreak investigations.
  • Contribute to graduate education through mentoring and participation in the College's graduate curriculum.
  • Participate in departmental, college, and university service activities.
