The Inbound Operations Manager oversees the strategic implementation of inbound operations at a distribution center. Reporting to the General Manager or Assistant General Manager, this role manages inbound teams and activities to ensure operational priorities are carried out efficiently and in compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. The manager promotes engagement, empowerment, problem-solving, and continuous improvement among teammates. The position leads inbound freight scheduling and unloading, receiving dock operations, stocking, housekeeping, maintenance, and safety protocols. It also develops employees, addresses supplier, delivery partner, and customer concerns, investigates recurring receiving errors with other distribution center management, protects company assets, and supports budget and cost-management initiatives. The role operates in a warehouse setting with industrial noise, bright overhead lighting, and varying temperatures due to limited climate control. Employees work around moving equipment and mechanical operations and must remain alert to safety signals. Physical demands include lifting and carrying objects typically weighing 25 to 50 pounds or more; pushing and pulling loaded equipment; extended standing and walking; bending, stooping, squatting, reaching and climbing; operating warehouse equipment; manual dexterity and repetitive motions; and stamina for a fast-paced environment that may involve long hours, weekends, or overtime during peak periods.
