About The Position

The In-Store Shopping Clerk works in the store to shop for and fulfill customers’ online orders using a mobile device equipped with the Instacart Shopper App. The clerk focuses on product quality and freshness, communicates order changes, substitutes potential out-of-stock items, processes transactions through the in-store POS system, and answers customer questions as an online ambassador for the store. The role may also assist with stocking shelves, filling frozen food bins, and maintaining the store’s cleanliness and presentation. The position suits a detail-oriented, customer-focused team member who enjoys identifying fresh, high-quality products and helping customers have a positive shopping experience. Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Show outgoing and friendly behavior, a positive attitude, and the ability to interact positively with customers.
Have good communication skills and the ability to take direction and participate in a team environment.
Be able to operate front-end equipment, including a register, calculator, and scanner.
Be able to stand, walk, and bend throughout the entire workday.
Be able to maneuver a utility cart holding 20 lbs., requiring a force of up to 35 lbs., for up to 2 hours and a distance of up to 20 feet.
Be able to walk up to 3 miles in an 8-hour shift.

Responsibilities

Shop for and fulfill customers’ online orders in-store using a mobile device equipped with the Instacart Shopper App.
Provide excellent customer service, focusing on product quality and freshness and substituting potential out-of-stock items.
Communicate necessary changes to an order.
Process order transactions using the in-store POS system.
Answer questions about order delivery, the Instacart platform, and the benefits of using the service as an online ambassador for the store.
May assist with stocking shelves, filling frozen food bins, and maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of the store.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
