In-Store Shopping Clerk
About The Position
Sprouts Farmers Market is hiring an In-Store Shopping Clerk to provide positive customer shopping experiences and help customers make healthier choices. The clerk shops and fulfills customers’ online orders in the store using a mobile device with the Instacart Shopper App, paying close attention to product quality and freshness. The role includes communicating order changes, suggesting substitutions for out-of-stock items, processing transactions, and answering customers’ questions about delivery, Instacart, and the service. The clerk may also support other store areas, including stocking shelves, filling frozen food bins, and maintaining the store’s cleanliness and presentation. The role requires an outgoing, friendly, positive approach to customer service, good communication, and the ability to take direction and work as part of a team. Physical tasks include standing, walking, and bending throughout the workday; maneuvering a utility cart holding 20 pounds with up to 35 pounds of force for up to two hours and up to 20 feet; and walking up to three miles during an eight-hour shift. Other related duties may be assigned. The pay range is $17.15–$22.30 per hour. Sprouts determines pay based on applicable experience and qualifications. Requirements
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrate outgoing and friendly behavior, a positive attitude, and the ability to interact positively with customers.
- Have good communication skills and the ability to take direction and participate in a team environment.
- Be able to operate front-end equipment, including a register, calculator, and scanner.
- Be able to stand, walk, and bend throughout the workday.
- Be able to maneuver a utility cart holding 20 pounds, requiring up to 35 pounds of force, for up to two hours and a distance of up to 20 feet.
- Be able to walk up to three miles in an eight-hour shift.
Responsibilities
- Shop and fulfill customers’ online orders in-store using a mobile device equipped with the Instacart Shopper App.
- Provide customer service with attention to product quality and freshness, including substituting potential out-of-stock items.
- Communicate necessary changes to an order.
- Process order transactions using the in-store POS system.
- Answer questions about order delivery, the Instacart platform, and the benefits of using the service as an online ambassador for the store.
- May stock shelves, fill frozen food bins, and help maintain the store’s cleanliness and presentation.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
