About The Position

We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician to join our team specializing in engine repairs for our Distribution Business in Nashville, TN. In this role, you will make an impact by completing troubleshooting, repairs, and rebuilds on engine products and other customer equipment in a service shop. You will also perform preventative maintenance, utilize computers and software for diagnostics, and adhere to documented procedures and policies for complex repairs. This role involves identifying and preparing necessary parts and tools, completing required documentation, and participating in ongoing training and certifications on Cummins products. Additionally, you will adhere to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures, and legislation, reporting any issues or incidents to your supervisor.

Requirements

  • Engine product and other customer equipment repair experience.
  • Experience with preventative maintenance.
  • Proficiency in using computers and software for diagnostic work.
  • Ability to apply documented procedures and policies to complete complex repairs.
  • Skill in identifying and preparing required parts and tools.
  • Experience completing required documentation (work completed documents, time sheets, warranty claims, quality documents).
  • Willingness to undergo ongoing training and obtain additional certifications on Cummins products.
  • Adherence to Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures, and legislation.
  • Ability to disassemble, inspect, clean, and reassemble engines and/or engine components.
  • Experience assisting experienced technicians with diagnostics and repair plan development.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Complete troubleshooting, repairs and rebuilds on engine products and other customer equipment in a service shop.
  • Perform preventative maintenance based on assessment of engines, including utilizing computers/software in the process of diagnostic work.
  • Apply documented procedures and policies to complete complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools.
  • Completing required documentation, such as work completed documents, time sheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
  • Ongoing training and additional certifications on new and existing Cummins products.
  • Adhere to all our relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to their supervisor.
  • Disassemble, inspect, clean and reassemble engines and /or engine components.
  • Assists more experienced technicians with diagnostics and development of repair plans engines in the workshop.
  • Maintains work area and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
