About The Position

We are looking for a talented In-Shop Diesel Technician to join our team specializing in engine repairs for our Distribution Business in El Paso, TX. In this role, you will complete troubleshooting, repairs and rebuilds on engine products and other customer equipment in a service shop. You will perform preventative maintenance based on assessment of engines, including utilizing computers/software in the process of diagnostic work. You will apply documented procedures and policies to complete complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools. You will also be responsible for completing required documentation, such as work completed documents, time sheets, warranty claims, and quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens. Ongoing training and additional certifications on new and existing Cummins products are provided. You will adhere to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and report any issues / incidents to your supervisor.

Requirements

  • Minimal level of work shop experience required.
  • Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products.
  • Must be able to travel to locations that need help.
  • DOT - A current valid license is required for this role.
  • Must be 18 years old with 2 years driving experience.
  • This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations.

Responsibilities

  • Disassemble, inspect, clean and reassemble engines and /or engine components.
  • Assists more experienced technicians with diagnostics and development of repair plans engines in the workshop.
