About The Position

We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician to join our team specializing in engine repairs for our Distribution Business in Nashville, TN. In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: Complete troubleshooting, repairs and rebuilds on engine products and other customer equipment in a service shop. Perform preventative maintenance based on assessment of engines, including utilizing computers/software in the process of diagnostic work. Apply documented procedures and policies to complete complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools. Completing required documentation, such as work completed documents, time sheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens. Ongoing training and additional certifications on new and existing Cummins products. Adhere to all our relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to their supervisor.

Requirements

  • Advanced level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
  • A current valid license is required for this role
  • Must be 18 years old with 2 years driving experience
  • This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
  • This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements.
  • This roll will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience providing technical advice and coaching to more junior technicians
  • Apprentice Trained Engine Technician
  • Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
  • Locally valid driving permit

Responsibilities

  • Applies documented procedures and policies to complete complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools
  • Disassemble, inspect, clean and reassemble engines and /or engine components
  • Performs preventative maintenance based on assessment of engines
  • Assists more experienced technicians with diagnostics and development of repair plans engines in the workshop
  • Completes required documentation, such as work completed documents, time sheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens
  • Completes training in line with skill and business requirements
  • Maintains work area and tools for cleanliness and proper operation
  • Adheres to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to their supervisor
