About The Position

We are looking for a talented In-Shop Diesel Technician to join our team specializing in engine repairs for our Distribution Business in Jackson, MS. This role offers a $5000 sign-on bonus for external candidates. In this role, you will make an impact by completing troubleshooting, repairs, and rebuilds on engine products and other customer equipment in a service shop. You will perform preventative maintenance based on engine assessments, utilizing computers and software for diagnostic work. You will apply documented procedures and policies to complete complex repairs, identifying and preparing necessary parts and tools. Additionally, you will complete required documentation, participate in ongoing training and certifications on Cummins products, and adhere to all Health, Safety & Environmental policies.

Requirements

  • Engine repair specialization
  • Proficiency in using computers/software for diagnostic work
  • Ability to apply documented procedures and policies
  • Skill in identifying and preparing required parts and tools
  • Experience completing required documentation (work completed documents, time sheets, warranty claims, quality documents)
  • Willingness to undergo ongoing training and additional certifications
  • Adherence to Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation
  • Ability to disassemble, inspect, clean and reassemble engines and/or engine components
  • Ability to maintain work area and tools for cleanliness and proper operation

Responsibilities

  • Complete troubleshooting, repairs and rebuilds on engine products and other customer equipment in a service shop.
  • Perform preventative maintenance based on assessment of engines, including utilizing computers/software in the process of diagnostic work.
  • Apply documented procedures and policies to complete complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools.
  • Completing required documentation, such as work completed documents, time sheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
  • Ongoing training and additional certifications on new and existing Cummins products.
  • Adhere to all our relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to their supervisor.
  • Disassemble, inspect, clean and reassemble engines and /or engine components.
  • Assists more experienced technicians with diagnostics and development of repair plans engines in the workshop.
  • Maintains work area and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
