About The Position

Visiting Angels Columbus seeks compassionate In Home Personal Aides to support seniors and others in need in Cataula and the surrounding area. The role provides companionship and assistance with daily activities, including light housekeeping, meal preparation, personal care, mobility, and transportation. The position also offers opportunities for advanced training in areas such as dementia care and Alzheimer’s care. Full-time and part-time opportunities are available.

Requirements

Passion for serving others and a genuine caregiver orientation.
Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking, with attention to dietary constraints.
Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards.
Respectful and compassionate demeanor.
Good time management skills.

Physical endurance.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Background in home care or elderly care.

Responsibilities

Help clients take prescribed medication.
Assist clients with ambulation and mobility at home and outside, including trips to doctor’s appointments and walks.
Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
Help clients with routine exercises.
Plan and prepare meals with assistance from clients when they are able.
Do the client’s shopping or accompany them while shopping.
Perform light housekeeping duties clients cannot complete on their own.
Be a pleasant and supportive companion.
Report unusual incidents.
Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
