About The Position

Visiting Angels Columbus is seeking compassionate Companion Caregivers to support senior adults and others in need in Cataula and surrounding communities. The role provides companionship and assistance with everyday activities, including light housekeeping, meal preparation, mobility, personal care, and transportation. Caregivers may also have opportunities for advanced training in areas such as dementia care and Alzheimer’s care. The position is offered on a full-time or part-time basis.

Requirements

Passion for serving others and caregiving.
Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking, with attention to dietary constraints.
Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards.
Respectful and compassionate manner.
Good time-management skills.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong ethics.
Physical endurance.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Help clients take prescribed medication.
Assist clients with ambulation and mobility inside or outside the home, including walks and doctor’s appointments.
Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
Help clients with routine exercises.
Plan and prepare meals with clients’ assistance when they are able.
Shop for clients or accompany them while shopping.
Perform light housekeeping duties clients cannot complete on their own.
Provide pleasant and supportive companionship.
Report unusual incidents.
Respond quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
