About The Position

Visiting Angels of Evansville is hiring an In Home Personal Aide to serve clients throughout the local area, including Vanderburgh, Princeton, Mt. Vernon, and Newburgh. The role supports senior adults and other home-care clients in staying or recovering at home with dignity. Visits vary by client and may involve personal care, light housekeeping, exercise encouragement, medication reminders, shopping, meal planning and preparation, and assistance with mobility and ambulation. The aide must respond promptly to medical emergencies and report health changes or unusual circumstances. The role calls for competency, compassion, and professional discernment. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent time-management skills.
Reliable transportation to client visits.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
Training or knowledge in First Aid and emergency response.
Compassion and a desire to provide meaningful companionship to vulnerable people.
Willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
Perform light housekeeping.
Encourage clients to meet exercise and fitness goals.
Prompt clients to take prescription medications at the appropriate times.
Help clients shop and put away groceries, or shop on their behalf.
Plan and prepare meals in collaboration with clients, according to their abilities.
Assist clients with mobility and ambulation around the home and during outings, including doctor visits and walks.
Respond promptly to medical emergencies.
Report health changes and unusual circumstances.
