About The Position

Visiting Angels of Claremont is hiring an In Home Personal Aide to support senior adults and home-care clients throughout the Upper Connecticut River Valley, including locations in Vermont and New Hampshire. Aides help clients remain or recover at home with dignity, providing individualized assistance and companionship. Client visits vary, and aides must be prepared to respond promptly to medical emergencies and report health changes or unusual circumstances. Full-time and part-time shifts are available, including 8-hour and 12-hour shifts.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent time-management skills.
• Reliable transportation to client visits.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
• Training or knowledge in First Aid and emergency response.
• Compassion and interest in providing meaningful companionship to vulnerable people.
• Willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
• Provide light housekeeping.
• Encourage clients to meet exercise and fitness goals.
• Prompt clients to take prescription medications at the appropriate times.
• Help clients shop and put away groceries, or shop on their behalf.
• Plan and prepare meals in collaboration with clients, based on their abilities.
• Assist clients with mobility and ambulation, including moving around the home, attending doctor visits, and taking walks.
• Respond promptly to medical emergencies and report health changes or unusual circumstances.
• Provide companionship to clients.
