About The Position

Visiting Angels of Webster Groves is hiring an In Home Personal Aide to support senior adults and other home-care clients throughout the local area, including Wildwood, Webster Groves, Ellisville, Ballwin, and Manchester. Aides help clients remain at home or recover at home with dignity. Visits vary by client and may involve personal care, housekeeping, exercise encouragement, medication reminders, shopping, meal preparation, and mobility assistance. Aides must be prepared to respond quickly to medical emergencies and report health changes or unusual circumstances. The role offers a flexible work schedule, with long shifts of 7–12 hours and short shifts of 2–6 hours.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent time-management skills.
Reliable transportation to client visits.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
Training or knowledge in First Aid and emergency response.
Compassion and interest in providing meaningful companionship to vulnerable people.
Willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
Manage light housekeeping.
Encourage clients to meet exercise and fitness goals.
Prompt clients to take prescription medications at the appropriate times.
Help clients shop and put away groceries, or shop on their behalf.
Plan and prepare meals in collaboration with clients, based on their abilities.
Assist clients with mobility and ambulation, including getting around the home, visiting the doctor, and taking walks.
Respond promptly to medical emergencies.
Report health changes and unusual circumstances.
