About The Position

Visiting Angels of Webster Groves is hiring a Companion Caregiver to support senior adults and home-care clients in the local area, including Wildwood, Webster Groves, Ellisville, Ballwin, and Manchester. Caregivers help clients remain at home or recover at home with dignity. Visits vary by client and may involve personal care, household tasks, meals, errands, mobility support, and companionship. Caregivers must be prepared to respond promptly to medical emergencies and report health changes or unusual circumstances. The position offers flexible scheduling, with long shifts of 7–12 hours and short shifts of 2–6 hours.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent time-management skills.
Reliable transportation to client visits.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
Training or knowledge in First Aid and emergency response.
A heart for vulnerable people seeking meaningful companionship.
Willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
Provide light housekeeping.
Encourage clients to meet exercise and fitness goals.
Prompt clients to take prescription medications at the right times.
Help clients shop and put away groceries, or shop on their behalf.
Plan and prepare meals in collaboration with clients, based on client ability.
Assist clients with mobility and ambulation, including moving around the home, attending doctor visits, and taking walks.
Respond promptly to medical emergencies and report health changes or unusual circumstances.
