About The Position

Visiting Angels of Lawton is hiring an In-Home Personal Aide to support senior adults and home-care clients in the local area, including Duncan, Lawton, Marlow, Comanche, and Fletche. Aides help clients remain at home or recover at home with dignity. Client visits vary and may involve personal care, household tasks, mobility assistance, companionship, and support with daily routines. Aides must be prepared to respond promptly to medical emergencies and report health changes or unusual circumstances. Shift options include full-time, part-time, PRN, 8-hour, 10-hour, 12-hour, and short shifts, including 1-hour shifts.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent time-management skills.
Reliable transportation to client visits.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks.
Must pass a background check and drug screen.
Training or knowledge in First Aid and emergency response.
A heart for vulnerable people and meaningful companionship.
Willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
Manage light housekeeping.
Encourage clients to meet exercise and fitness goals.
Prompt clients to take prescription medications at the appropriate times.
Help clients shop and put away groceries, or shop on their behalf.
Plan and prepare meals in collaboration with clients, based on the client’s ability.
Assist clients with mobility and ambulation, including getting around the house, visiting the doctor, and taking walks.
Respond quickly to medical emergencies.
Report health changes or unusual circumstances.
