About The Position

Visiting Angels of Naperville is hiring caregivers to serve clients in the local area, including Aurora, Lombard, Wheaton, Lisle, Downers Grove, Carol Stream, Warrenville, and Winfield. The role supports clients’ quality of life and wellness in accordance with their custom care plans. Caregivers may assist with personal care and hygiene, mobility, meals, light housekeeping, medication reminders, companionship, errands, and responding to emergencies. Advanced training opportunities in areas such as dementia and Alzheimer’s care are available.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and a reliable personal vehicle for transporting clients.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Training in first aid and emergency response; training is provided if needed.
Excellent time-management skills and ability to juggle multiple duties.
Reliable transportation to and from client homes at scheduled times.
Physical endurance for tasks such as carrying groceries and physically supporting a client.
Comfort performing housekeeping and cooking duties while adhering to applicable dietary constraints.
Ability and willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards, including a background check.
Compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten clients’ days.
Willingness to help clients with personal care and hygiene.

Interest in broadening caregiving skills through advanced training in dementia care or Alzheimer’s care.

Responsibilities

Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
Assist clients with light physical exercise or walks.
Plan and prepare meals with clients while following applicable dietary constraints.
Handle light housekeeping duties.
Report health changes or unusual incidents.
Provide pleasant, supportive companionship.
Respond quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
Accompany and supervise clients during shopping trips.
Remind clients to take prescription medications appropriately.
Assist with mobility and ambulation at home and during appointments or errands.
