About The Position

Visiting Angels Athens is seeking compassionate caregivers to provide in-home support to senior adults and others in need in Monroe and surrounding communities. The role offers an opportunity to provide companionship and help clients with daily activities, personal care, mobility, meals, transportation, and light housekeeping. Caregivers may also pursue advanced training in areas such as dementia care and Alzheimer’s care.

Requirements

Passion for serving others and a genuine caregiver orientation.
Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking, with attention to dietary constraints.
Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards.
Respectful and compassionate approach.
Good time management skills.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong ethics.
Physical endurance.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

Background in home care or elderly care.
History of community involvement.

Responsibilities

Help clients take prescribed medication.
Assist clients with ambulation and mobility at home and outside, including doctor’s appointments and walks.
Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
Help clients with routine exercises.
Plan and prepare meals with assistance from clients when they are able.
Shop for clients or accompany them while shopping.
Perform light housekeeping duties that clients cannot complete on their own.
Provide pleasant and supportive companionship.
Report unusual incidents.
Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
