About The Position

Visiting Angels Athens is seeking compassionate In Home Housekeepers or Caregivers to support seniors and others in need in Monroe and surrounding communities. The role provides companionship and assistance with daily activities, including light housekeeping, meal preparation, personal care, mobility assistance, and transportation. Caregivers may also have opportunities for advanced training in areas such as dementia care and Alzheimer’s care.

Requirements

• Passion for serving others and caregiving.
• Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
• Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking, with attention to dietary constraints.
• Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards.
• Respectful and compassionate demeanor.
• Good time management skills.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong ethics.
• Physical endurance.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication.
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility at home and outside, including doctor’s appointments and walks.
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
• Help clients with routine exercises.
• Plan and prepare meals with assistance from clients when they are able.
• Shop for clients or accompany them while shopping.
• Perform light housekeeping duties clients cannot complete on their own.
• Provide pleasant and supportive companionship.
• Report unusual incidents.
• Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
