About The Position

Visiting Angels of Albuquerque is hiring caregivers to serve clients throughout Los Lunas, Peralta, Bosque Farms, Albuquerque, South Valley, Los Chavez, and other local areas. Caregivers enrich clients’ quality of life and support their wellness in accordance with customized care plans. The work may involve personal care, companionship, household duties, meal preparation, mobility assistance, and accompanying clients on errands or appointments. Advanced training opportunities in dementia and Alzheimer’s care are available for caregivers seeking to broaden their skills. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and a reliable personal vehicle for transporting clients.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Training in first aid and emergency response; training is provided if needed.
Excellent time-management skills and the ability to juggle multiple duties.
Reliable transportation to and from client homes at scheduled care times.
Physical endurance for tasks such as carrying groceries and physically supporting a client.
Comfort performing housekeeping and cooking duties while adhering to applicable dietary constraints.
Willingness and ability to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards, including a background check.
Compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten each client’s day.

Responsibilities

Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
Assist clients with light physical exercise or walks.
Plan and prepare meals with clients, following applicable dietary constraints.
Handle light housekeeping duties.
Report health changes or unusual incidents.
Provide pleasant, supportive companionship.
Respond quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
Accompany and supervise clients during shopping trips.
Remind clients to take prescription medications appropriately.
Assist clients with mobility and ambulation at home and during appointments or errands.
