In-Home Caregiver – Palm Coast
About The Position
Community Resource Network of Florida is seeking a fun, compassionate, dependable caregiver to support a young boy with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) in achieving greater independence and quality of life. He enjoys outdoor activities, swinging, jumping on the trampoline, playing with cars and trains, exploring maps, and travel-related activities. He communicates using an AAC device and written choices and needs support with daily living activities, including personal care. The caregiver will provide attentive, safety-conscious, nurturing support, engage him in preferred activities, and assist with daily needs while encouraging independence. This role is offered on an independent contractor basis, not as an employee, and pays $15.00 per hour. The schedule is Monday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.; Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.; and Thursday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license.
- Must pass local and Level 2 background screening.
- At least one year of caregiving experience or technical training.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Positive outlook and contagious energy.
- Patience and compassion.
Responsibilities
- Encourage and support the individual during activities at home.
- Assist with personal hygiene tasks.
- Prepare meals and perform light cleaning.
- Ensure the individual's safety and maintain a safe living environment.
- Accompany the individual to social events and community outings, including grocery shopping and appointments.
- Promote communication, choice, independence, and socialization.
- Complete daily progress notes.
