In Home Caregiver
About The Position
Kennedy Care is hiring a part-time Life Care Professional (In-Home Caregiver) to provide supportive home care for veterans, seniors, and individuals with complex medical needs. The role helps clients live safely, comfortably, and with dignity in their homes. Work will primarily be with clients in Jackson County, with possible opportunities to support clients in neighboring counties. Specific workdays and times have not yet been determined. Caregivers may assist with personal care and daily routines, mobility and safety, specialized care for clients with spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, dementia, Alzheimer’s, and age-related conditions, meal preparation, light housekeeping, companionship, and emotional support. The role also involves documenting care updates using smartphone tools and communicating with the care team. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within a 25–30 mile radius.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds independently.
- Comfort using smartphones and mobile apps.
- Dependable and compassionate caregiver mindset.
- Additional requirements may vary based on the client assignment.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in home care, caregiving, or healthcare.
- CNA certification or similar caregiver background.
- Experience supporting veterans.
- Experience with dementia, traumatic brain injury, or spinal cord injury.
- Valid driver’s license, vehicle registration, and auto insurance may be required depending on client needs.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with bathing, dressing, grooming, hygiene, and daily routines.
- Support client mobility, transfers, and safety in the home.
- Provide specialized home care for individuals with spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, dementia, Alzheimer’s, and age-related conditions.
- Prepare meals and assist with light housekeeping.
- Provide companionship and emotional support.
- Document care updates using smartphone tools.
- Communicate with the care team to support quality home care.
